 Jenny
Haskins is a leading force in the world of machine
embroidery and quilting; an award-winning quilter
(having won 1st and 3rd at the Houston IQA market and
Festival) who is hailed for her original designs and
easy techniques which she shares with avid machine
artists around the world.
When Dreams Flower is the twelfth book Jenny has written
and published (both as a self-publisher and through
recognized commercial publishers); she is also the
editor of the prestigious Creative Expressions magazine
(and specials) published by Creative Living Media Pty
Limited in Australia. In the past twenty years jenny has
designed and published in excess of thirty original
quilts; not to mention award-winning garments and home décor
items.
Delighting in the classic designs and colors, Jenny now
has her own successful and extensive range of embroidery
threads, stabilizers, and batting, as well as sewing
notions (all marketed by RNK Distributing).
Jenny has been traveling around Australia and the US for
the past 20 years, teaching, demonstrating, and
lecturing and has attended the Houston International
Quilt Market and Festival as both a teacher and
exhibitor, (with her quilts and garments on display in
2005 in her own special exhibition).
Inspiration for the fabric range
The inspiration for the When Dreams Flower fabric
collection for Windham Fabrics which is her first fabric
line came from Jenny's latest quilt book of the same
name which had been a dream of hers for the past 5
years. Jenny's background is art and she always dreamed
of creating a quilt that reflected her brush and canvas
days but this quilt was painted with fabric, needle and
thread. Jenny is thrilled that for the first time she
has a fabric range that matches those fabrics,
embroidery (for those who do not embroider) and
techniques used in her quilt, so everyone can easily
replicate. Windham looks forward to future
collaborations with Jenny. |
