Sunbonnet Sue was inspired by the "Little Lacey
Lou" quilt collected by the Rocky Mountain Quilt
Museum's founder Eugenia Mitchell and donated to the
museum in her honor by her brother Ruben Hartmeister in
2001.The quilt created in the 1930's - 1940's era
measures 93.5 inches in length by 83 inches in width
with pink sashing between the blocks. The blocks were
hand appliquéd, hand and machine pieced and hand
quilted.
The Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum was the dream of an
80 year old woman named Eugenia Mitchell who wanted her
collection to be seen by the public and preserved for
